Hello Customers
and Friends,
I am
contacting you as many of you are not aware that the Wisconsin DNR is requiring
that you register or permit your pier or risk being regulated to a pier no
wider than 6’ and no loading platform.
The need to register or apply for a permit is dependant on the
dimensions of your pier. There are also
rules as to the number of boats you can keep at your shoreline.
If
registered, some existing piers and boat slips can be “Grandfathered”. This registration must be completed by April 1, 2011.
Please
visit http://dnr.wi.gov/waterways/recreation/piers_text.html
for more details and registration materials.
If you
would like me to visit your property to confirm pier dimensions, or would like
me to confirm a purchase date etc. please let me know
If you have
questions regarding how to measure or fill out the forms, please let the DNR do
their job and contact them directly.
I try to
keep up-to-date information on the piers I install annually. Many times
measurements are rounded or sections are added and removed without being
recorded in my information. If you would
like the information I have in your file, please let me know.
Thank
You
